According to TMZ, actress and daughter of Bill Cosby Ensa has passed away at age 44.
The news site reports that Ensa died on Friday night (US time) in Massachusetts. While no official death certificate released, ABC confirmed she died of a Kidney failure.
A spokesman for the late star’s famous dad asked for prayers for the Cosby family and that the family be given peace at this time.
Cosby, 80, and his daughter had a close relationship, with her often supporting her father during his legal woes.
“My father has been publicly lynched in the media and my family, my young daughter, my young niece and nephew have had to stand helplessly by and watch the double standard or pretending to protect the rights of some but ignoring the rights of others,” she said in a statement.
“I strongly believe my father is innocent of the crimes alleged against him and I believe that racism has played a big role in all aspects of this scandal,” she said about her father’s sexual assault trial.
Plus, the two worked together as Ensa appeared in a season 6 episode of “The Cosby Show.”
