Blue Crush is returning as a TV show!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, NBC is producing the TV reboot of the 2002 surf flick starring Kate Bosworth and Michelle Rodriguez.
The TV series will take on the theme of female empowerment and ambition, set in Hawaii’s North Shore, following a surfer who tries to revive her career after a tragic accident and bring pride to a community threatened by surf politics and commercialism.
The original film was a surprise success grossing over US$51 million worldwide surpassing it’s budget of US$25million.
