Sunday Night reporter Denham Hitchcock is engaged to girlfriend Mari Borges, and the proposal couldn’t have been sweeter.
The Channel 7 journalist has shared the intimate and unique moment he proposed whilst in the ocean, the place he met his bride-to-be.
“We met while surfing so it only seemed fitting that the next chapter also started in the ocean,” he wrote.
“I managed not to drop the ring – I popped the question – and heard a yes through the tears. Afterwards I realized I should have done it earlier as she stopped stealing my waves”.
Borge also shared the same series and explained how she almost missed her future groom’s question.
“My happiness is bigger than the ocean, and so is our love. Incredible day, stunning location,” she said.
“I nearly missed the big question as I saw a turtle and wanted to paddle after it and Denham is like no ‘come here for a photo’ haha. Sneaky. We are so happy ❤”.
