And that’s exactly how Justin Timberlake said sorry to his wife, Jessica Biel, and their son, Silas, after photos emerged of the star holding hands with his Palmer co-star, Alisha Wainwright.
Taking to Instagram to share a note a fortnight after the November 21 scandal broke, Justin maintained his innocence – but did admit to a “lapse in judgement” caused by excessive drinking.
“A few weeks ago, I displayed a strong lapse in judgement – but let me be clear – nothing happened between me and my costar,” he posted to the social media platform.
“I drank way too much that night and I regret my behaviour. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son.”
The singer-turned-actor went on to apologise to Jessica for “putting them through such an embarrassing situation” and promised he’s now focussed on being “the best father and husband I can be”.
Filming for Palmer is ongoing, and Jess hasn’t yet spoken out about the snaps or the infidelity rumours – but insiders close to JT back up the former N*SYNC star‘s claims that nothing untoward is going on between he and Alisha, who plays his love interest in the upcoming film.
“There is absolutely nothing going on between them,” an insider shared. “They were out with all the cast, crew makeup artists. Everyone was just hanging out in a social setting. They are just working together. No validity to any other rumour other than that they are filming together.”
Justin, 38, and Alisha, 30, were photographed holding hands and touching each other while hanging out on the balcony for New Orleans bar The Absinthe House. According to The Sun, Jessica Biel’s husband was also spotted without his wedding band.
“They’re filming a movie together and it was a group of people hanging out,” insisted a second source.
“There is nothing going on between them.”
“They were smiling and laughing.
“At one stage he grabbed her hand and rested it on his knee. She then gently started stroking his leg.
“Then he clutched her hand with both of his and was playing with her hands.”
