WATCH Kate Langbroek open up about her family’s move to Italy:

“You have a very good life back home,” said Little. “Like you’ve got a great job, you’ve got a gorgeous family — what made you go, ‘You know what? I need to leave’?”

‘Our eldest son Lewis, who’s 15 now, and healthy and beautiful, had leukaemia when he was six, and was in treatment for four years, and nearly died,’ the 53-year-old media star revealed.

‘For so long we couldn’t go anywhere, we couldn’t travel anywhere — I mean we went to the hospital, we went home.’

‘There seemed something really life-affirming about having an adventure together as a family.’

Kate and her husband Peter Allen Lewis, along with their four children, Lewis, 15, Sunday, 14, Artie, 12 and Jan, nine made the move from Melbourne to Bologna, Italy at the beginning of this year.

Speaking to Stellar at the time, Langbroak joked that the kids didn’t have much say in the move, but thankfully they were just as keen to some time abroad.

The Hughesy & Kate radio presenter even has a makeshift recording studio set up in her apartment so she can continue to record the show with co-presenter Dave Hughes.
