Kate Ritchie admits growing up on TV is something that still has ramifications on her life today.
The mum-of-one dropped by The Project to talk about her new book It’s Not Scribble when the 40-year-old looked back at her puberty years on Home and Away.
“I have to admit, it was pretty awful at times, but I think after 30 years, I’m so used to people commenting on my body,” she shared.
“I kind of grew overnight. I’ll go get my sausages at the butcher or I’ll go to the hairdresser, and people will tell me they remember the day when Sally Fletcher grew breasts.”
Ritchie no longer feels self-conscious but admits, ” I think it’s affected me in some ways”.

Ritchie became a household name when at the age of 8 she landed a starring role as schoolgirl Sally Fletcher on Home and Away back in 1987 – a role she played for 20 years.
