We’ve all heard that dodgy excuse for getting out of something we really don’t want to go to.
“Sorry, I can’t. I’m washing my hair that night.”
And it’s a joke. Nobody actually ditches on a date to shampoo, rinse, repeat, right?
Well, as she so often does, Lindsay Lohan has proven us all wrong yet again, after bailing on a scheduled Aussie TV show guest appearance only to post an Insta video of herself having her hair washed the next day!
Due to film a guest spot on Have You Been Paying Attention? on August 4, the Mean Girls star failed to show, with Channel 10 releasing a statement that the redheaded beauty was instead “resting up”, with Bachelor Matt Agnew stepping in to take the reins.
“Unfortunately, Lindsay Lohan is no longer able to appear on Have You Been Paying Attention?” the TV network explained.
“Lindsay will rest up and return to the set of The Masked Singer Australia on Tuesday.”
As HYBPA filming was happening sans LiLo, however, the star shared an unapologetic post on Instagram, captioning a video of an assistant showering her (literally) on a yacht:
“Had to stay home and rinse my hair tonight.”
In the country to judge the Australian version of The Masked Singer, the 33-year-old has already had tongues wagging after fellow judge Dave ‘Hughesy’ Hughes complained about the Hollywood starlet’s diva antics when the cameras aren’t rolling.
“She complained about the fact she had to go downstairs to smoke cigarettes,” he shared on his radio show, Hughesy & Kate, adding that her cigarette break took so long, the crew was forced to start one particular workshop without her.
“The discussion was had: ‘Let’s start, we don’t know how long Lindsay’s going to be’,” he recalled. “We thought maybe she’s not going to come back!”
News of the star’s alleged behaviour Down Under has reached the US, with talk-show host Wendy Williams slamming LiLo, telling her to be “accountable and more reliable”.
“The rumour is she’s already annoying the other judges,” Wendy shared on her show, The Wendy Williams Show. “Wear a nicotine patch while you’re doing the show. After the show go smoke a carton and complain!”
Ouch!
What Wendy maybe didn’t realise is that comedian Hughsey’s kind of known for stirring the pot – and is usually just having a laugh when he goes on one of his trademark rants.
“He’s got a certain style of comedy and he certainly doesn’t mean anything bad by it,” Masked Singer castmate Jackie ‘O’ Henderson shared on her radio show. “He hasn’t got a bad bone in his body.”
Osher Gunsberg – who also plays a role on the new Channel 10 musical series – was quick to leap to LiLo’s defence, too.
“She was so professional. She took pages and pages of notes, asked heaps of questions. She was all over it.”
