But after a turbulent start to their honey, fans are now wondering if Married At First Sight Australia experts – despite all their bizarre tests– got it wrong?

The new groom shocked his wife, and viewers, when he unleashed at her as she tried to open up to her spouse about her hardships.

Heidi decided to open up to Mike during their beach Honeymoon on the Whitsunday Islands.

Wanting to take their relationship to a deeper level, Heidi revealed she had a difficult childhood.

“I feel like I was born strong. I moved out of home when I was still in high school and stuff and had to go live by myself.”

Listening, Mike then asked, “How does that work?” to which Heidi replied, “Well first had to go into foster care but there was no room for me.”

She added, “I just felt like there was no room for me ever”.

But after “literally two minutes”, Mike cut Heidi off after telling producers “I honestly just lose focus after a few minutes.”

“Find a conclusion at some point, I’m loving this but you’ve got to let me in as well.”

“It just looks like you’re ranting at me.”

Now Mike is trying to explain his harsh reaction.

Speaking to 9Honey Celebrity, he said, “You know what, I have to own that.”

“It was a mistake in the moment. I just became a bit overwhelmed with the subject that we were speaking about and it just wasn’t for me — the time or the place and I was a bit impatient and I don’t know why. I normally wouldn’t have said anything like that to a woman.

“I am normally a really good listener, but in that particular moment for some reason I just lost it and I don’t really have a good answer for that, but I have apologised endlessly and hopefully that’s enough to clear the air.”

He adds that he was seasick, dehydrated and was a few glasses of champagne down.

“I’m not making any excuses for it. It was poor form.”
