Wednesday night’s dinner party resulted in an explosive confrontation between Mike and Jessika.
And now the Married At First Sight groom says he was already “infuriated” with the cheating bride before he even walked into the gathering.
Wednesday night’s episode saw Mike confront Jessika over a claim she made about Mark — saying he was betraying wife Ning by being in the experiment for “the wrong reasons”.
“I had spoken with Heidi and she had given me some of the details about what happened previously that night,” Mike told 9Honey Celebrity. “Not too much detail but enough to become infuriated with what I’d heard and when I saw Mark ashen-faced, I became apoplectic.”
Despite initially planning to stay out of the drama, Mike says he couldn’t control himself when he saw Jess at the dinner.
“I’d considered saying nothing and when I saw her swanning around the cocktail party, that was enough to tip me over the edge because I’d had enough exchanges with her and had chosen to back away from a dramatic scene,” he says. “But on this occasion when Mark — who is my best friend in the experiment — was involved, I couldn’t resist defending him.”
Mike also admits that he didn’t notice that his wife, Heidi was upset by the drama.
“I had the blinkers on and I saw red and I don’t think I really took much notice of anything else around me,” he says. “I probably should have been more considerate of Heidi and her feelings about it, but I also expected some support on the matter after she had already spoken herself about it. She should have known that by telling me and firing me up I would react.”
