Mel Greig has recounted a very scary story about just one of the pains that Sophie Monk has battled as an endometriosis sufferer.
The radio host penned in a column for Nine Honey, “At 28, Sophie called her first of over 20 ambulances. The pain was so excruciating she couldn’t walk, and at one point had to crawl to the ambulance.”
Explaining that growing up, the singer suffered from nausea, back pain and cramps, Greig wrote, “In her 20s the symptoms worsened, and the nausea had turned to aggressive vomiting, sometimes for seven hours consistently.”
Last week, Sophie Monk underwent successful surgery after receiving a shock endometriosis diagnosis.
Taking to Instagram Stories, a video of a post-op Monk shows the singer sleeping soundly.
We hear the doctor and nurses saying, “Operation is finished, she’s got a good response.”
While Monk penned on top of the video, “Only I’d ask to be filmed under. Best sleep I’ve had in years,” before thanking the “angel” staff.
Endometriosis is a condition where cells similar to those that grow in the lining of the uterus grow outside of it, often causing intense pain.
