Australian cricket legend Shane Warne has denied claims he punched a London-based porn star at a private nightclub in Mayfair over the weekend.
Valerie Fox, 30, told to police and tweeted photos of bruises she claimed were caused in the argument with Warne.
The Sun reports that onlookers witnessed the model and the 48-year-old arguing at Loulou’s in Mayfair on Saturday night, resulting in Fox falling to the floor and clutching her face.
It is not known how the pair know each other.
In tweets posted early yesterday Valerie shared images of her bruised face, insisting: “And no, I’m not lying.”
Warne has since released a statement this morning, revealing he’s been “cleared of the allegation” by London police.
“I was shocked to read the media stories circulating earlier today concerning a false allegation of assault,” he said.
“I have fully co-operated with the police, and they have now had the opportunity of seeing CCTV and speaking to witnesses. The police have confirmed to me that I have been cleared of the allegation and that no further action will be taken. This is now the end of the matter.”
