We’re calling it: Spring is going through a severe identity crisis.
Less than a week before Summer arrives, NSW will be drenched to its core with torrential rain forecast for Sydney and Wollongong.

Meteorologists are predicting that on Wednesday morning New South Wales will be his with torrential downpours in an intense six to 12 hours.
They’re even advising us to be prepared for possible flash flooding.
“A dangerous rain and wind event is on the way for NSW with Sydney and Wollongong in the firing line with heavy rain, followed by powerful winds as a low pressure system comes in,” the Sky News Weather channel meteorologist Rob Sharpe advised.
“It’s going to be a vigorous system — short and sharp”.
Sydney is expected to see from around 60mm to as much as 120mm of rainfall.
November’s average – for the month was just 66mm.
So things are going to be wet.
Wollongong could see as much as 150mm of rain, Nowra 100mm, Katoomba 90mm and Wagga and Canberra 30mm. Some isolated coastal and exposed areas could be walloped with as much as 200mm.
“Current forecasts indicate intense rain could occur in major population centres from Wednesday morning. Damaging winds and hazardous surf conditions are also anticipated,” said the BOM in an alert.
Other capitals should be fine, with Melbourne potentially receiving a shower.
But some of Queensland could be bucketed down on.
The crazy weather will definitely shake things up for the 2018 ARIA AWARDs, which will be hosted on Wednesday evening at The Star.
