Consuming alcohol isn’t the best thing to do when trying to stick to a healthy diet, but now a study has found a link between tequila and weight loss.
According to research from the American Chemical Society, the sugars (agavins) found in the plant that makes tequila can help lower your blood sugar.
Researchers found that mice who followed a standard diet and then drank water with added agavins ate less than those who didn’t consume agavins.
The mice who were given the agavins also a hormone called GLP-1, which keeps the stomach full longer, meaning they ate less.
