A refillable lipstick range from a Byron Bay brand is making waves with shoppers who prefer natural, environmentally friendly and ethically sourced ingredients in their products.
Beauty brand Eye of Horus is inspired by the beauty rituals of the ancient Egyptians, who would line their eyes with black eyeliner for beauty and for spiritual protection.
Here in Australia, the brand has become a favourite of sustainability-minded beauty buffs.

It’s also become a leader in the ‘’slow and responsible’’ beauty market as shoppers increasingly look towards local, small-batch production, consistently earning five-star reviews and numerous beauty awards.
The latest product in the Eye of Horus beauty arsenal is two new ranges of Refillable Lipstick, $46, in either a Satin or Matte finish.
The Lipstick Satin range is enriched with a blend of Shea Butter, Jojoba and Castor Seed to give shiny, lasting colour, while the Lipstick Matte range is hand-blended with Moringa Oil, Squalane and Mango Seed Butter to lock in moisture while delivering a smooth matte look.
Each lipstick is encased in a recyclable, refillable aluminium shell as part of the Eye of Horus ‘’buy once, refill forever’’ approach.

Once you’ve used all of your first lipstick bullet, you can buy a refill for your favourite shade for $33.
The colours range from subtle tones such as Nude, Buff, Honey, Satin Pink, Rose and Bisque to slightly bolder hues such as Clove and Ochre and the formulas are described as being created in Byron Bay with “100 per cent natural and ethically sourced ingredients”.
‘’Our goal was to create a versatile range of Refillable Lipstick shades that you can wear every day, and to complement all complexions,’’ Eye of Horus founder Holly Schleich explains.
Schleich started Eye of Horus at a time when ‘’clean beauty’’ was still a relatively new concept, beginning with a single mascara designed for sensitive eyes.
So popular was that first product that Schleich knew she was onto a good thing.

Now, Eye of Horus contains a full range of cruelty-free products spanning mascara, foundation, concealers, facial oils, eyeshadows, and, of course, its new Refillable Lipstick range.
When the collection colours were revealed on Instagram, followers raved about the range.
‘’I’m in love with them all,’’ one fan wrote.
‘’What a stunning shade range,’’ agreed another.
‘’So many gorgeous colours,’’ added a third.
‘’Can’t wait!’’
Eye of Horus Refillable Lipsticks are available for purchase online and in select beauty retailers from July 11.
