Having not done a lot of local TV before, Ellie told Channel Seven what people might expect to see from her on Big Brother.
“I think people generally have a misconception about me and who I am,” she said.
“I feel like I have a persona online where I’m very proper, but I love swearing. I’m so sarcastic and goofy, and I think that’s one thing people won’t expect,” she explained.
“I’ve been preparing my whole life for this. I think, being in the industry that I’m in, you do have to be pretty ruthless and have a good head on your shoulders if you want to be successful,” Ellie told the Gold Coast Bulletin.
As for what Ellie’s revealed about her time in the house, we can apparently expect to see her strike up a friendship with none other than Caitlyn Jenner, who flew over from the US for the show.
“I have so much respect for Caitlyn. For her to be living her 100 per cent genuine self, she just represents so many people out there,” Ellie said.
Last night’s episode also saw her speaking to Omarosa Manigault Newman, a former political aide to the former President of the United States, Donald Trump.
Ellie observed that when Trump became President, it was ‘like Crocodile Dundee becoming Prime Minister of Australia’, prompting Omarosa to talk more about her experiences in the White House.
Ellie has also established herself as one to watch, as she is the current tipped winner on Sportsbet, which can usually predict the winner of a reality TV show miles in advance.
With odds at $1.78, she’s followed by Australian Survivor alum Luke Toki at $3.85, and former Big Brother contestant Danny Hayes at $6.50 – making her a strong favourite.
We’re keen to see if this betting prediction comes to fruition, however, Ellie has a lot more to come after her time on Big Brother VIP, with the launch of her clothing label, 9186 Collective, due next month.
Founded by Ellie and her long-term partner, Ross Cutts, 9186 Collective is an activewear brand that aims to ‘encourage women to be more active in ways that work for them’.
Big Brother VIP airs Monday to Wednesday, 7:30pm, on Channel Seven.
