In every Bachelor In Paradise season, as with every other reality show, at least one contestant is painted as a villain.
This year it was Cassandra Mamone who fit the bill.
As many reality stars do, Cass, has claimed she was edited together to look like a “mean girl” and while that may be true she’s given a very interesting explanation for one of her worst moments on the show.

Fans may recall the shock moment Cass was seen referring to co-star Niranga Amarasinghe as “gross”.
Chatting to Adelaide Confidential, Cass explains the footage was cut together from a completely different moment.
“I was coughing and the producer said ‘Cass. You can spit outside’ and I said ‘gross’.”
“It was not towards anyone.”
The Adelaide jewellery designer turned reality star was accused of friend-zoning Niranga because of his race, and only using him for a “friendship rose” to stay on the show.
“Myself, my family, we don’t have any prejudice against any race or religion.
“I’m so diverse in my friendships and in my dating life.”
Fans turned on Cass after she told Niranga she no longer wanted to exchange friendship roses.
To which he responded carefully: “And I respect that … But, like … respect goes both ways. Like, you know, you’re always wanting something.
“You sit there like a little princess … I give you foot rubs like you ask, you know … And the day before, you’re like, ‘Oh, where’s my drink?’ You know?”
While Cass hoped to clear up parts of the fan outrage, she did take ownership for some of her other questionable behaviour on the show.
“People that know me know I’m joking, I’m mucking around but those words can still hurt someone,” she admitted.
“That is never my intention.”
Bachelor in Paradise continues tonight from 7.30 on Channel 10.
