Americans will not get the chance to see episode ten of The Heathers remake as it has been labeled as too controversial. But Stan will still broadcast it for Australian audiences.
The episode titled The episode, entitled Are We Going to Prom or Hell? has been banned from screening in USA.
But Aussie fans can watch the tenth episode, currently on Stan.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Jason Micallef said, “Obviously I wish fans could see the 10th episode but the producers and I felt strongly about not changing anything in it, and so, it’s been considered too controversial for US audiences.”
“Still, every day at this job is a delightful dream so it’s hard to complain. Plus, what matters most is fans will now get to see the satire we all love so much.”

It’s believed that in light of the Florida Parkland school shootings – the tenth episode is not appropriate.
The show’s production company, Paramount, shared, “Heathers is a satirical comedy that takes creative risks in dealing with many of society’s most challenging subjects ranging from personal identity to race and socio-economic status to gun violence.”
“While we stand firmly behind the show, in light of the recent tragic events in Florida and out of respect for the victims, their families and loved ones, we feel the right thing to do is delay the premiere until later this year.”
There had been talks that the cult classic reboot would get the flick, but that decision has been put on hold – for now.
Fans fell in love with 1988 film, which starred Winona Ryder, Christian Slater and Shannen Doherty – who appears in the TV version.
