Following fans expressing their concerns online over Katy Perry’s recent eye malfunction on stage, the singer has spoken out on her Instagram.
She posted the video that went viral along with a long caption stating “Welcoming all my #flatearthers #spaceisfakers #birdsarentrealers #skyisntbluers to come see my broken doll eye party trick IRL in Vegas next year! 😜”.

“The show’s set list is a fun 🎢 through memory lane going all the way back to 2008, a time when we weren’t all frozen by the paranoia of our own echo chambers! 🤸🏻♀️,” the singer wrote.
“This show is a nonstop party about finding unconditional love and strangely (for me) not political at all, heck I pour beer out of my tits (that’s a party trick too… I don’t actually lactate hops silly goose!)🍺 Hope to sing along with you in 2023! In the video, Katy Perry is seen blinking with one eye while the other one remains awkwardly closed. She tries to fix the malfunction by touching the side of her face; fruitlessly attempting this twice before eventually managing to open both eyes. The whole thing looked robotic.
After the video went viral, Katy’s fans took to social media to express their concern for the singer, asking if “she is okay?” and whether the video “was for real?”.
While many fans voiced concerns online, others speculated that the eye twitching could be due to false eyelash glue sticking her eye shut.

Last year on American Idol, Katy Pery revealed that she suffers from ‘wonks eye’ which some fans think may be the culprit.
“I have a wonk eye as well, and I used to be worried about it,” she shared.
“Then a bunch of my fans created a fandom over my wonk-eye. I even have a fandom that calls itself, ‘Katy’s wonk-eye.'”
