It looks like Leonardo DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid are getting more serious, months after the A-lister was first caught on camera cosying up to the 27-year-old model.

In June 2023, both Gigi and Leo were spotted meeting at the same London eatery. Sure, that may not sound too crazy since the pair have been the subject of dating rumours since September 2022, but, it was who else was at the restaurant that is causing fans to think the relationship might be getting serious.
Leo attended the Chiltern Firehouse Hotel with his parents, George DiCaprio and Irmelin Indenbirken. Whilst many jumped to the conclusion that the pair were now at a meeting-the-parents stage, a source told E! News that they were simply all attending a group even hosted by Vogue editor Edward Enninful.
The pair were first spotted at a party in New York City late last year, with The Daily Mail obtaining photos of the pair leaning close and speaking into each other’s ears.
Leo’s friends Richie Akiva and Darren Dzienciol hosted the event at Casa Cipriani in Manhattan’s Soho neighbourhood. Gigi was dressed in a white crop and high wasted jeans while the actor was sporting a black t-shirt and cap on the night.
Soon after the sighting a source told Page Six that the pair have “mostly [been] hanging out with groups”, as well as meeting up “solo a handful of times.”
“[DiCaprio] is not someone who is in-and-out of relationships. He doesn’t jump around hooking up. They are taking it slow,” they told the outlet.
Yet Gigi’s sister Bella Hadid doesn’t seem keen on the blossoming romance, with a source telling The Mirror Bella thought the relationship was “ill-suited.”
“Bella thinks that Gigi’s too good for Leo, and the way he leapt to Gigi seemingly without a thought for his previous girlfriend gives Bella the shivers.”
“Her worry is that Gigi could wind up hurt and embarrassed.”
“He really likes that Gigi has her life together,” a source told People at the time. “She has a child and she’s mature. He wants to be with someone who has the same idea of good causes and political views like he does.”
The pair have been spotted enjoying a number of date nights out in New York in the following months, though Leo has been linked to other women in this time.
In January 2023, after Leo was linked to Victoria Lamas on NYE, a source claimed Gigi and Leo were not exclusive.
“Leo and Gigi have enjoyed their time together when they’re able to see each other, but when they’re busy with various commitments, they’re doing their own things and they are not exclusive,” a source told ET. “They have respect for one another and have always just been seeing where things go.”
After an on-off casual romance, the pair both arrived at the Cannes Film Festival in France this past May.
Leo was there to promote his film, Killers of the Flower Moon, while Gigi walked the red carpet as a guest at the premiere of Firebrand (Le Jeu De La Reine).
The duo may well reunite at Cannes, with Entertainment Tonight’s source saying they “still hang out and talk when it works with their timing. They have fun together when their busy schedules permit.”
Sources previously claimed the Hollywood actor and fashion icon have been “getting to know each other” in New York following Leonardo’s split from model ex Camila Morrone.
“They’ve been seen hanging out with groups of people. It’s only been a few weeks since the split. Since then, he’s been hanging out with friends and family,” an insider told People.
“They are getting to know each other,” another claimed, though they clarified that the pair aren’t “dating” just yet. A third said: “Leo is definitely pursuing Gigi.”
The model mum-of-one split from One Direction star Zayn Malik in October 2021 after six years together and has since remained single.
And Gigi isn’t the first model Leo has been linked to since his split; the actor was rumoured to be dating Ukrainian model Maria Beregova, 22.
Reports they were an item emerged just days after news of Leo and Camila’s split broke, with Maria reported to have met the actor while partying together in St Tropez in July.
Calling into 2DAY FM’s Hughesy, Ed & Erin breakfast show, Maria spoke to Australian media for the first time since rumours that she and Leonardo are dating made headlines yesterday.
When asked about her love life, Maria replied: “Unfortunately, as I said I’m not able to discuss anything regarding my personal life, but I’m happy to answer any other questions.”
If there was any romance between them, it looks like it’s since fizzled out as Leo – allegedly – moves on with Gigi.
Of course, there’s no way of knowing if claims the actor and model are an item are true until we get photos or a statement from the pair, and we don’t expect those anytime soon.
But if Gigi does turn out to be Leonardo’s next girlfriend, it will break his pattern of only dating women aged 25 and under, which he’s been keeping up with since the ’90s.
