My Kitchen Rules 2026 has served up a number of chaotic storylines this season.
From Jane and Shane’s “tasting, not eating” philosophy and controversial critiques to walk-outs and wild dishes being served at Instant Restaurants (aka pigeon), this year fans have witnessed drama unfold both in the kitchen and at the dinner table.
However, recently there is one storyline that fans are sick of seeing (or at least seeing people complain about), and it’s a reaction contestants also confessed to having while filming the show.
Speaking to WHO, Gatecrashers Zoe and Zac unpacked the one comment that they were surprised was still getting so much airtime on the show.
What complaint are fans sick of seeing online?
In Round Two, viewers were served up a contestant twist as newcomer Zoe revealed she was pescatarian and wouldn’t be tasting any food that contained or was touching meat.
This sparked quite a reaction from contestants around the table, particularly as she sat through most of Ted and Sheridan’s restaurant without touching anything on her plate.
Naturally, long-time fans of the show were also outraged by this casting decision, slamming producers for letting a pescatarian on the show in the first place, even though there have been contestants with dietary restrictions before.
While many fans thought the shock of this reveal would have subsided by now, viewers are still showing their outrage online.
“I don’t understand why she was even chosen to be on the show, it’s a cooking show not ‘I can’t eat it show,'” one viewer wrote online.
“How is that fair and equitable?” another agreed.
This has caused other annoyed viewers to step in and, well, ask everyone to just move on.
“I’m estimating this is the 40th time it’s been asked,” one fan wrote in response to a viewer’s question about Zoe’s place on the show.
“Hasn’t this been done to death in the other 15 threads about it?” another agreed.

‘You’re still beating this dead sea horse’
If fans thought reading countless chat threads complaining about letting a pescatarian on the show was hard, try listening to the complaints each and every night of filming.
And during Krysten and Lucy’s Instant Restaurant in Round Two, Angus and Simon brought up the pescatarian debate again, demanding an explanation from Zoe about why she’s on the show.
“I kept saying throughout the competition, you’re still beating this dead sea horse. Like, it does not make sense,” Zac told WHO about the backlash Zoe received at the table. “We’re here, we’re sat at the same table as you guys, so I don’t understand the problem that you are constantly having with it.”
“It’s also funny in hindsight,” Zoe added. “Because obviously, Zac and I put ourselves in the pescatarian box. So, we’re actually more narrowed in how to cook with options than every other team.
“So, it should be such an advantage for them, because they have an array of meat and stuff to cook. So, it’s very strange.”
