The first four episodes of Love Is Blind’s third season only just hit Netflix and there’s already been a fair share of drama and controversy.
But none more shocking than Andrew Y. Liu faking his tears in the third episode!
After being dumped by Nancy Rodriguez, Andrew is asked by a producer how he feels about the break up during a piece to camera.
Andrew then questions whether the camera is rolling and despite the producer saying, “Yes,” Andrew proceeds to pull some eye drops from his jacket pocket and puts them in his eyes.
Andrew then talks about how he feels ‘hurt’ before he pulls out and uses the drops AGAIN after asking the producer, “Is it okay that I’m doing this?”
While the producer replied, “If your eyes are hurting you, by all means,” it’s probable that Andrew’s eyes weren’t hurting him and he was most likely hoping the show would edit the footage so that it looked like he was crying over Nancy’s rejection; especially because moments later Andrew says, “I never thought I could care for someone that would bring me to tears.”
Dude, your eyes were as dry as a desert before you added those drops in…
Fans obviously went into a frenzy over the moment in question, taking to Twitter to express their disbelief.

One user wrote, “Did Andrew just fake tears on camera? I’m screaming!” while another Tweeted, “I don’t know who hates Andrew on Love Is Blind more: me, or the editors of Love Is Blind.”
“The producers leaving in the scene with Andrew using eye drops for tears is honestly so funny,” wrote another Love Is Blind fan.
Andrew has responded to the controversy; he recently posted a clip of the infamous eye-drop moment on his Instagram story and wrote, “Could have at least edited out the pimple, guys.”
He then re-shared a few fan-made memes that have been circulating on social media, including an Impractical Jokers meme that implies the producers of Love Is Blind laughed about not editing out Andrew using eye drops to fake cry.
On this meme in particular, Andrew wrote, “I cannot confirm nor deny due to my contract.”
Episodes five to seven of Love Is Blind season three will be released on Netflix from October 26.
