Big Brother 2026 has been full of surprises! From controversial housemates and ‘showmances’ to contestant feuds and screaming matches, audiences are being fed a great deal of drama this year.
The latest surprise was an early eviction during a game of pass-the-parcel, where Pam was evicted after receiving the fewest saves from the Australian public.
The 62-year-old contestant spoke to WHO about this moment, describing it as a “brutal eviction”.
“Halfway through that pass-the-parcel, I realised it’s not going to be all lollies and nice things happening here,” she said. “So, yeah, it was quick, but you know, I think you’ve got to be a good sport about these things.”
Pam developed quite a few connections in the house, bonding with Matty and even admitting to warming to Ebony as she took on the role of Head Housemate.
However, the biggest shock for Pam was the ageist message Harmon left for her after being evicted, and the reaction it sparked.
‘I’d never really thought of myself as old’
Harmon left the Big Brother house in chaos, calling Ebony “fake” and Pam “old”. While Harmon was light-hearted in his delivery, Pam revealed that she did not think it was “a joke”.
“He said three things: One, you’re old. Two, you need to be in a retirement village. And three, you’ve got bad knees,” Pam told WHO. “So it was a triple whammy of an insult.
“And, you know, I’d never really thought of myself as old. Up until that point — when he used the word old — I thought he was talking about someone else.”
Pam admitted that she was “at the older end of the spectrum” in the house, because she was “in [there] with a bunch of 26-year-olds, or 25-year-olds, or 23-year-olds”, but, in her normal life, she had never thought of herself as old.
“I just got on with my life and did my work, and I’ve been quite really well health-wise and so on,” she added.

Pam has never ‘flipped the bird’ before this moment
After hearing Harmon’s comments, it’s natural that anyone would have a strong reaction.
For Pam, this meant flipping him the bird, which she confessed she had never done before this moment.
“I just thought, ‘Oh, that’s really hit me between the eyes. I’m just not happy with his insults,'” she said. “I just thought, ‘Well, you are just an awful person.’ So that’s when I flipped the bird. And I have never done that in my life.
“So that was an indication of how angry I was, because that’s just something that I just don’t do in real life, and it sort of caught me by surprise, the whole thing.”
Pam also added that Harmon criticising her over video, rather than in person, wasn’t just “insulting” but also made him a “coward”.
“I thought, actually, ‘You’re not only insulting, but you’re also a coward, because you left me with no right of reply’, which I didn’t much care for either,” she said.
Big Brother is meant to show a diversity of real people and personalities, and this moment and Pam’s surprising reaction are just that. We’ll miss you, Pam!
