We're here for it.

If you thought the Tina-Mitch-Emily love triangle was hard to watch, we’ve got some news for you ahead of Monday’s episode, with Love Island looking like it’s trying extra hard to hurt people.

Last night’s episode left us on a bit of a cliff-hanger, with Sophie Monk reassuring ‘dumped’ contestant Courtney she’d be allowed to remain in the villa after Australia voted her as the one they most want to see find love in the villa.

She then confirmed that someone would be going home though, queueing the end of the episode and a three day wait to find out who it is.

But the teasers on the production team were ready to spice things up, dropping a trailer this morning revealing that either Lexy or Rachel will be going home.

Um, what?

Both of those girls are in committed couples in the villa, and although their taste in men might be questionable, it’s definitely a harsh move to rip one happy couple apart in the pursuit of gossip.

At last night’s re-coupling, Chris elected to stay with Rachael in order to keep developing their connection, which so far seems based entirely on a mutual love for Harry Potter, while Ryan chose to remain with ‘bomb’ Lexy, whom he’d just spent a night with in the hideaway.

So, why?

We’re guessing the cut will be based on public voting, which is used for more than just deciding the winners of Love Island. Australia has been asked to vote for their favourite Islander, the one they most want to see find love, if they think a particular person will find love, etc.

It only makes sense that a question like ‘who is your least favourite?’ would eventually come into the mix, and reactions to Lexy and Rachael have been, well, mixed.

“LEXY CAN GO SEE YA,” one person commented on the trailer, all in capitals.

“I HOPE RACHAEL LEAVES,” wrote another passionate fan of capitals.

“But really. IDC who leaves between Lexy and Rachael … I think Ryan and Chris should follow them,” a fan shared on Twitter.

We think so too, but they won’t, because drama.

Monday will also bring the arrival of two new ‘bombs’ – Zoe and Nicolas, giving sweet Courtney yet another chance to meet a boy she might like.

And Zoe is a blonde, so we’re certain she’ll have no trouble, given most of the boys in the villa have stated a preference for blondes (Ryan, we’re looking at you).

No matter what happens, it looks like we’re in for a lot of tears come Monday. Bring it on!
