If you watched Gia’s wedding to Scott and audibly gasped when her upper thighs became exposed thanks to her short dress and a perfectly timed gust of wind, just know that moment was never part of the bride’s vision.
While it may have made for great TV, Gia opened up to WHO about what really happened behind the scenes on MAFS, including how she didn’t even choose the dress that caused the commotion.
Fans did not like Gia’s dressed and they were savage about it
After her wedding to Scott, the backlash against her wedding dress choice was swift and intense.
However, Gia didn’t get to wear her favourite option.
“People were saying, ‘Why did she pick that dress? She looks like mutton dressed as lamb. Why would she choose that for the beach?'” Gia told WHO. “And I’m like, ‘I didn’t pick it, guys, I just picked options.
“You send through three or four options, and they choose,” Gia revealed. “For me, they really wanted something that covered my arms because of my tattoos. So that’s what they chose.”

The irony, of course, is that while producers were focused on concealing her ink, the final dress ended up exposing far more than anyone anticipated once the coastal wind picked up!
What did Gia think of her wedding dress?
“I hated my dress, to be honest,” she admitted. “It’s not what I would have chosen.”
Adding to her frustration, Gia says she had no idea her wedding would be held on the beach.
“I didn’t even know it was a beach wedding. I would have picked something way more suitable.”

What budget was Gia given for her wedding dress?
According to Gia, contestants are given a strict wardrobe budget, around $2,000, which must cover the wedding dress, reception dress and accessories.
“It’s not a huge budget,” she explained. “You’re finding something within those limits.”
