The Traitors has entered the tail end of the season, with two traitors left — Kirby Bentley and Rhys Nicholson — and a handful of faithfuls scrambling as they try not to turn on one another (it’s safe to say, they haven’t been all that successful).
After a death match between The Block twins Josh and Luke Packham sent Luke packing (pun intended), Josh had a melancholy breakfast, telling everyone about how brutal it was to say goodbye to his brother.
However, one name that was hot on everyone’s lips suddenly was Rachael Evren.
Keira was suspicious of this former Love Island player from the start. However, it was only when Josh and Tully Smyth were convinced she was a traitor that things started to go south for her.
Rachael told WHO why she absolutely did not see this moment coming, and the message she sent to fellow faithful Josh — who threw her under the bus.
Rachael’s post-show message to Josh after his betrayal
Rachael revealed to WHO that while she obviously knew Josh voted for her at the Round Table, what she didn’t know was how he suspected her in the lead-up and was plotting her demise.
“I didn’t see it coming, especially with Josh,” she confessed. “I never knew about [him suspecting me]. I actually didn’t know about that until I watched it with the rest of Australia.
“So I just sent him, on Instagram, little snake emojis because I was like, ‘How dare you?'”.
Nothing like a light-hearted DM to say both ‘wtf!?’ and ‘it’s water under the bridge’.
‘It really is a taxing experience’
After laughing about her betrayal by Josh, Rachael candidly admitted that she was ready to leave the manor at this stage in the game.
“Honestly, I think it was my time to go,” she said. “When I walked out of the Round Table room, I broke down in tears because it was a sigh of relief.
“It was like, ‘Ah, okay, it’s now done.’ It was truly a great experience, but I was also ready to be out of there.”
She spoke about how she didn’t have “any fight left” when she was accused at the Round Table.
“It really is a taxing experience, and I think the thing that really took the wind out of me was being called a traitor from day one when I wasn’t one,” she confessed. “Because I was constantly having to show up and be like, ‘This is who I am, guys!’, and that is, emotionally, a really draining experience.”
