It’s been a trying time for ex Married At First Sight star Poppy Jennings as the struggling mum tries to come to terms with her time on set, hinting on multiple occasions something sinister occurred when the cameras weren’t rolling.

And while she’s she’s unable to reveal the truth due to her MAFS contract, she’s taking action against Nine Network and production company Endemol Shine for ignoring her feelings about being “uncomfortable” around her TV husband Luke.

“This is going further,” the Wollongong mother-of-two said at the United Cinemas Opera Quays opening night this week. “I feel like I’m empowered by the fact that I have spoken up and I’m not going to back down because things happened and I admitted things on camera.

“It was two occasions, there was the night that I left which is why I was crying and there was the girls’ night that I got brought back to where I was taken out of and I said it there too. So the footage speaks volumes about what actually happened.”

Last week, Poppy’s best friend Susie appeared on The Kyle and Jackie O Show where she said they called in the lawyers, as worrying details about her vicious feud with Luke continue to surface.

“[Poppy] needs to have an understanding of what she can and can’t say,” Susie explained, adding she also sought legal support because she’s been barred by MAFS producers from saying her piece.

“It’s all about the show, no one is really caring about how she is feeling. Something happened to her that made her feel uncomfortable, and everybody has just brushed it off like it’s not important.

“She definitely told producers, and they just said, ‘Poppy, you can’t come forward with this as it’s way too controversial for the show.'”

“They’ve made her out like she’s left him for no reason, and she just doesn’t like him and misses her kids. This is not correct at all.”

Two weeks ago, Poppy— who sensationally quit the series without providing what was deemed to be a reasonable explanation— lifted the lid on what it was like being married to her television husband, claiming the FIFO worker wasn’t as innocent as he seemed.

“I was matched with someone who cheated on his wife, didn’t live in the same state and wasn’t dad of the year by any means,” the bride said in a lengthy Facebook rant, calling Luke’s character into question. “The experts never met him!!! He was fake on camera and a complete dick behind the scenes! It was infuriating.

I was uncomfortable with all the things about this person I was matched with that didn’t add up. But I was told, ‘Poppy, on camera and off camera doesn’t exist to the public,'” she said.

The photographer also accused Nine Network of covering up what happened when the cameras weren’t rolling, revealing they claimed her portrayal would be altered if she admitted why she really decided to walk out of the experiment.

Admitting her honeymoon was four days long but we were only shown six minutes of it, the mother of twin boys said a series of unfortunate and traumatising events occurred during their time away when MAFS showrunners weren’t present.

“I couldn’t say what was happening behind the scenes as it was too controversial. Why is Luke crying when I left??? Go and ask Luke why I was so uncomfortable????? Why the f**k did I really leave?? He’s petrified I am going to talk. He knows he f***ed up. Those tears from him are for his reputation and job!”

She continued: “He’s scared sh**less I will tell the truth. I was afraid to speak up! But f**k this s**t I’m going to tell everything!!! It’s not what you see, it’s what you don’t see!”

After her shock comments exposed the Network, Nine and Endemol Shine released an official statement to News.com.au.

“We have seen Poppy’s post and note her distress,” the statement read. “We have reached out to her to offer support and won’t be making any further public comment and will focus on doing our best to support both Poppy and Luke.”
