She was one of the most controversial characters in last season’s series of Married At First Sight, but it’s clear Davina Rankin’s off- screen life couldn’t be more different from her drama-plagued reality television stint.
Happily living with her partner of eight months, Jaxon Manuel, the 27-year-old told WHO she’s the happiest she’s ever been following the backlash from her reality-television debut, where she was painted as a villain for arranging a secret date with Dean Wells behind her TV “husband” Ryan Gallagher’s back.
“He’s such a caring, uplifting and positive person,” Rankin says of Manuel, 32. “He’s very dedicated and motivated and he’s gorgeous, so that helps.”
In fact, the loved-up couple are so committed to each other they’ve even discussed their future and marriage, and Rankin is adamant her real-life wedding will be relaxed and low-key.
“I don’t feel like I need to feel like a princess for a day,” she said. “I don’t want to give anything away but [our wedding] definitely won’t be a big, extravagant event that everyone would expect.”
