The Bachelor Australia made a huge move when they decided to invite former stars of the show Matty J and Sam Wood, plus their leading ladies Laura Byrne and Snezana Markoski along to the mansion to help Matt Agnew pick someone to spend his life with.
And by about the third ad break, Sam Wood had revealed his pick for the winner!
“My gut feel says whoever they bring back for dinner ends up being who you’re with,” he told Matt, referring to Laura and Snez’s task of choosing one lady to join the couples and the Bach for dinner that night.
“The person we chose tonight, we feel, still has a few things that they need to get off their chest,” Snez and Laura explained to the group of girls waiting expectantly to hear who was the lucky chosen one.
“So we’re hoping this person uses this time to let Matt know how they feel. And don’t be shy. Don’t be scared. And be really open about how you’re feeling. This was a really hard decision for us.”
(Drumroll please…)
“Helena!”
So, did Sam call it right? Will Helena be the one to walk away with the prize… ahem, we mean, Matt’s heart?
We sense a match… but Matty J wasn’t convinced.
“Helena, she’s quite the package,” he told the camera away from the dinner table. “She’s stunning, she’s articulate, she seems kind and humble. I’m kind of thinking to myself, [she’s got] everything going for her.”
“But she’s also quite young. Yeah, 25. When I was 25 I definitely wasn’t ready to settle down.”
Meanwhile, Sam had some other sage words of advice for Matt while taking on his Bachelor journey.
Chatting on the phone to WHO, Sam confessed he’s been catching the new Bachie on our screens when he can.
“We watch sometimes! We get an episode in here and there with [their second baby together] Charlie asleep on us.”
Speaking about meeting Matt, Sam shared, “[He] is a really nice guy.”
As for the new season, we think Snez’s man is on the money.
“It is a good blend of crazy drama but there is some genuine chemistry. There are 3-4 who are in with a good chance.”
