It seems the newly announced 2021 Bachelor already dated an ex-contestant from the show, which was revealed after it was noticed that Bella Varelis, from Locky Gilbert’s season, was already following the pilot before the news broke.
The Wash uncovered the link between Bella and Jimmy, so they reached out to the influencer about what went down between the two.
The entertainment site slid into Bella’s Instagram DMs and uncovered the truth behind the rumours.
Her response confirmed the news but also clarified that the two are still on good terms.
“Yeah, we were chatting and went on a couple dates towards the end of last year; we got set up by a friend,” she said.
“He’s are really lovely human, definitely deserves to find love!”
While there is nothing scandalous to see here, it does give reality TV enthusiasts a closer look into the social circles that influence the dating lives of ex-contestants of The Bachelor, and its spin-offs.
Bella is doing fine though, and she recently announced that she is in a relationship with photographer and fellow influencer Will Stokoe.
She had been hinting at the relationship for weeks before finally announcing they are together in February.
As for Jimmy, he has expressed in a statement by Ten that he is a “self-confessed romantic” and “an intelligent and passionate go-getter.”
Apparently, he is ready to find the one which we can only hope for, considering he is going on a dating show.
“I am a big believer in embracing any opportunity that presents itself, especially if it has the potential to change your life for the better,” Jimmy said in the statement.
“The journey ahead will be one of the most challenging experiences that I have ever undertaken, however, I am very excited to meet someone that I could potentially spend the rest of my life with.”
Time will tell how the pilot navigates his role as The Bachelor, but considering he spent time around ex-contestants, Jimmy may have a better idea than most about what he is getting himself into.
