The Traitors kept audiences on their toes this week. From Cam’s shock return (and swift exit) to Cosima’s tearful banishment, the tension is rising and the delusion of the game is certainly getting to the players‘ heads.
Former Survivor Australia player Henry Nicholson was the latest to leave the game, exiting after receiving just one vote more than Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson.
This vote comes after the player went in hot on three players whom he was “99.9%” certain were traitors — Kirby, Luke, and Josh — the first of which was right.
However, this strategy ultimately backfired, and a pack mentality kicked in, causing the Faithfuls to cast their votes for the player out of spite and for safety’s sake.
Speaking to WHO after reliving the heartbreaking exit on national TV, Henry said he “fell in love with being a Faithful” and had no “regrets” about how he played the game.
Henry confessed he was ‘worried’ about how he would ‘come across crying on TV’
When Henry was selected and stood in front of the group for his final words, tears were shed.
“You’re always a bit worried about how you would come across crying on TV,” he told WHO. “But I was super proud of myself watching it back.
“It was actually a nice reflection moment for me, seeing myself and being proud of myself, but in that moment, it was so many mixed emotions.”
The player confessed that he “expected” votes to “come [his] way” after accusing three people at once, and while he was glad to see his strategy come to life on TV, he, of course, would have “loved to still be in it”.
“I think I was cast to be on the show to bring a bit of that strategy background,” he said. “I hope I did that, and I’m super proud of seeing myself do that.”
‘It was a massive pinch-me moment’
Henry also gushed about what an incredible experience it was to be in the game with so many people he would’ve never met, and has no hard feelings about his banishment from the game.
“It’s honestly a massive pinch myself moment as well,” he said. “The gratitude I’ve got to be able to mix with people that I never would have mixed with, and to call a lot of these people my really good friends that I can call any time and they can call me any time.
“What a blessing!”
While we wouldn’t expect a game as devious and backstabbing as The Traitors to produce such wholesome friendships, we’re glad the twisted nature of the game doesn’t hang around the players for long!
