The Traitors Australia 2026 Grand Finale has finally arrived, and it did not disappoint. From brutal back-stabbings to complete mental breakdowns, the final four players certainly had their work cut out for them.
In the devious final moments of the series, faithfuls Krissy Marsh and Keira Maguire and traitors Kirby Bentley and Rhys Nicholson completed one final challenge to add as much money as they could to the winner’s prize pot.
However, as expected, chaos ensued, particularly after Josh Packham’s shock banishment left everyone suspicious and on edge.
Speaking to WHO about the series, host Gretel Killeen confessed that “all of the contestants constantly surprised [her]”.
“I was astounded at how people could choose a perspective and then find evidence to back it up even though it was wrong,” the host said, admitting it caused quite a lot of annoyance. “But in terms of human behaviour with our participants, it’s just astounding, the layers of people.
“Once you add the fear and paranoia and excitement and the allure of money, that’s a really interesting combination.”
And how this interesting combination made for incredible entertainment!
Despite a fair few tears being shed over the course of the competition, the contestants have revealed that they’re all still very good friends, with a handful actually flying interstate to Melbourne to watch the Grand Finale together.
“Tonight’s going to be fun,” Tully Smyth told WHO ahead of the explosive final episode. “There are a few castmates that have flown in from interstate, and we’re having a really big party at Rhys’ comedy club [Comedy Republic] to watch the final episode.
“We’re all very excited.”
What happened in The Traitors Australia 2026 Grand Finale?
During The Traitors Australia 2026 Grand Finale, the four finalists competed in a game involving four rooms, each with one of Gretel’s fears inside.
With $36,000 up for grabs, the contestants were given one task: name every past player in the game in order of their banishment and death.
However, while the players tried to remember the order, they also had to endure whatever lay inside each room. For Krissy, this was cutting her hair with every wrong answer, for Keira, it was a room filled with pigeons and a suit covered in birdseed, for Rhys, it was holding jugs in the air as they filled with wine, and for Kirby, it was playing with kittens.
After 30 minutes — and many reflections about their experience — the contestants recited the list and earned themselves the cash, bringing the prize money total to $200,600.
Then, the players each took a seat at the final Round Table for the series, banishing Rhys from the game.
As is customary to The Traitors Grand Finale, after Rhys was banished, they did not reveal their identity, leaving the remaining contestants with a tough decision.
Kirby, Keira, and Krissy then met host Gretel at the fire pit, where they had the option to decide if they would end the game, or banish another player.
They chose the latter, with Keira and Kirby’s votes banishing Krissy from the game.
Who is the winner of The Traitors Australia 2026?
Since Krissy was banished, that left one traitor in the final two, giving the win to the traitors.
Therefore, the winner of The Traitors Australia 2026 is Kirby!
Kirby will receive the entirety of the prize pot, which, this season, comes to $200,600. The contestant confessed that she’ll be spending the money on her sister’s wedding.
