When people think of an Australian icon, Kylie Minogue is often the name that comes to mind. The Aussie pop-star has had a career spanning over five decades, arguably reshaping what ‘pop’ looks like along the way.
Now, the diva has a new docuseries, KYLIE, on the way and we couldn’t be more ready (and proud).
And, just to delight us, she stepped onto the red carpet with none other than Jason Donovan to celebrate the release of the doco this Thursday, and we are all simutaneously screaming.
Kylie was also joined by her sister Dannii, dialling up the nostalgia in a way we didn’t even know we needed.
They’re all out to celebrate the three-part docuseries, where Kylie opens up to fans and audiences about her career and personal life as she walks down memory lane and reminisces on the 80 million records she’s sold along the way.
From the public scrutiny she faced to struggles with illness and loss, this documentary chronicles the woman behind the hits that garnered her so much respect over the years.
What will KYLIE be about?
Directed by Emmy and BAFTA Award-winner Michael Harte and produced by John Battsek’s VENTURELAND, this film will feature personal interviews between and with friends, family, and collaborators of Kylie throughout her life.
It also leans into personal anecdotes and mementos of Kylie’s career and family with personal photographs, exclusive interviews, and home videos.
The new interviews featured will include the voices of Kylie Minogue, Dannii Minogue, Jason Donovan, Nick Cave, and Pete Waterman.
On top of the more unseen aspects of the popstar’s existence, the documentary will of course feature the international success the Aussie has gained over the year, touching on her nine No. 1 Australian albums, 18 ARIA Awards, four BRITs, two MTV Awards, and two Grammys.
Will there be any celebrity cameos in KYLIE?
Before, during, and after Kylie Minogue and Margot Robbie’s iconic Chanel collaboration for the CHANEL 25 Handbag campaign, rumours were spreading online about Kylie wanting Margot to play her in a biopic.
While this upcoming Netflix series is leaning more into a documentarian than dramatic portrayal of Kylie’s life, fans are still curious about whether the Queensland actress will make a special appearance, particularly after their recent partnership together.
Either way, we’ll still be getting some appearances from Kylie’s friends, family, and collaborators, including her sister Dannii Minogue and other well-known names like Jason Donovan, Nick Cave and Pete Waterman.

KYLIE will be released on May 20, 2026.
