For all you thirsty fans out there who are desperate to find a man as qualified as this year’s Bachelor Matt Agnew, you will no doubt up the ante on your search for love when you discover how much the astrophysicist earns!
Granted, we don’t know Matt’s salary but you only need to do a quick Google search to realise he’s probably sitting on a gold mine!
KISS COUNT: Matt Agnew smooches 17 girls in the new promo
According to SalariesHub, the minimum salary earned by an astrophysicist is a casual $105,925, with the maximum being $189,240. Then, if you take a peek at the popular job searching platform indeed.com you’ll find that for those working in the field, the salary ranges from $69,308 as a research associate at the University of Western Australia to $113,165 as a Research Fellow/Lecturer at the Australian National University.
No doubt the most qualified Bachelor to join the hit dating franchise, Matt Agnew has a double undergraduate degree in science and engineering as well as a masters in astrophysics. Soon to be Dr Agnew, he’s also a PhD candidate at the Swinburne University of Technology where he works in the Centre for Astrophysics and Supercomputing.
But what on earth does all of that mean?
“My specific research is about planetary science, so the stuff I’m doing is trying to figure out where another planet like Earth could exist, so we could actually look and find it,” he told 10 Daily.
On top of earning killing, Matt is probably one of the few men in this world who can count how many people they’ve slept with on two hands! Yesterday, the 31-year-old scientist appeared on Kyle & Jackie O’s radio program where he was grilled about all things pertaining to his sex life.
“How many women do you think you’ve slept with?” radio shock-jock Kyle Sandilands asked the sexy scientist.
Stunned by the question, Matt awkwardly replied, “Funnily enough this is a question on the application form, I’m not sure what the desired answer is either… Rough number… 7. I’m going to stick with that.”
“That’s a very little number,” Kylie teased.
“It’s large enough for me, Kyle.”

Ok, let’s move on and chat about last night’s episode because it was truly magical. There was a decent amount of drama, some unusual outfits and a few odd encounters (I’m looking at you Nichole) as 20 lovely ladies vying for Matt’s heart desperately fought for his attention. But through it all, one potential suitor, who made a killer first impression, stood out.
In less than 45 minutes, the affable nurse went from being just another blonde on our TV screen to this season’s front runner.
In what appeared to be the most authentic encounter we’ve seen on the show thus far, the Newcastle based nurse and the astrophysicist enjoyed some quality time together, bonding over their careers, hobbies and love of adventure.
After much anticipation, Matt pulled the 24-year-old aside and asked if she’d not only accept the first rose but accompany him to his home in Melbourne for a romantic date.
“I am really enjoying getting to know you and I want that to continue because I feel like there could be something special here,” the devilishly handsome Bachie told the bubbly blonde. “You give me butterflies and at the same time, you make me feel very relaxed. I feel like we’ve known each other for a long time. It would be my pleasure if you take the golden ticket and accept this rose.”
“I’m speechless,” Elly grinned. “I am so happy that I get to know him a little bit better away from everyone. I am so excited. I can’t wait to get to see a bit of Victoria and see where you are from.”
