A million of your dreams have just come true!
Why? Because everyone’s favourite film, ‘The Greatest Showman’ is copping a sequel.
Following the film’s unexpected global success, director Michael Gracey told The Sun earlier this week that he and beloved Aussie actor Hugh Jackman have been secretly working on a second instalment.
“When a movie becomes as big a success as this, it’s only natural there is demand for a sequel,” he said. “So those discussions have started and we are working on one right now.”
At this point in time, we don’t know whether the new film will follow on from the first, however, Gracey confirmed Jackman will reprise his role as P.T Barnum. Hopefully, Michelle Williams, Zac Efron and Zendaya will also be back for round two!
Despite the film’s cult following, many critics predicted that the movie would be an epic flop, hence why it took the dedicated director eight years to get the go-ahead to produce the film.
“There were huge doubts about it for a very long time and some backers withdrew their money,” Gracey explained.
Clearly, he proved the doubters wrong as ‘The Greatest Showman’ went on to become the third highest-grossing musical in history! The film’s epic soundtrack has also been a mega-hit, with over 5.3 million copies being sold worldwide.
Take that, haters!
