As consumers are globally becoming more interested (and invested – spending their dollars on healthier beauty products such as vegan, paraben and sulphate free etc.) in ‘clean beauty’ celebrities are capitalising on the health and wellness trend.

According to Fortune.com, “Goop by Juice Beauty products range from 73% to 99% organic, as well as items ranging from lipstick to deodorant from other ‘clean’ brands.”

One of the first people who paved the way for other celebrities in the clean beauty and wellness space was Jessica Alba.

Alba pioneered the ‘celebs promoting and creating clean beauty products’ movement with her brand, The Honest Company.

Jessica saw a gap in the baby market and was motivated after having her first child to create ‘clean’ baby products.

She made an initial dent in the industry, the company which started with just “eco-friendly” diapers grew exponentially over the years and now includes household products as well as a separate beauty entity, Honest Beauty which is comprised of 17 skin-care products and a 66-piece makeup range that is free from potentially harmful chemicals.

As of October 2017, The Honest Company was valued $1 billion.

We are loving the shift towards cleaner and ethical beauty and wellness products which are steering away from harsh chemicals and synthetic ingredients.
