Australian rock legend Angry Anderson has lost his son Liam after a believed attacked.

The youngest son of Gary “Angry” Anderson has passed away after an alleged assault in Sydney’s north.

Seven News reports that a 20-year-old man is expected to be charged over the “brutal bashing death” of 26-year-old Anderson.

It is reported that a fight between the victim and another man in a reserve off Pavilion Street in Queenscliff early on Sunday morning.

Anderson was found with horrific injuries at the park. He passed away on his was to the hospital.

Witnesses have recounted to authorities that they saw two people fighting.

They claim to have heard “shouting and moaning” coming from the direction of the park.

“I just heard a lot of, say for at least half an hour, moaning,” the witness relayed back to Seven News.

In a statement, the Rose Tattoo singer’s management has said: “With the matter in the hands of NSW Police, the family will not be making any comment at this stage, nor are we as Anderson’s management in a position to offer any comment on their behalf.”

NSW Police Inspector Michael Boutouridis has spoken out about the events, sharing “It was quite a bloodied scene.”

“The 26-year-old deceased man died at the scene and he is a local. The man we have in custody was violent and it took a number of police officers to subdue and arrest him,” he said.

“We expect to charge him later today.”
