According to The Sydney Morning Herald, an official Netflix comedy written by Australian comedic genius Chris Lilley will be filmed on the Gold Coast between March and June this year.
QLD Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has made an official statement about the production of the new show, adding that she was “delighted” to have Lilley and producer Laura Waters (previously worked on Summer Heights High, Ja’mie: Private School Girl and Jonah from Tonga) work in the region.
The state government suggested the new TV show will equate to is a $6 million win for the local economy and should open up about 350 jobs during the four-month stint in the state.
