Hearts around the nation broke when rumours circled the fate of Bachelor In Paradise favourites Lisa Hyde and Luke McLeod, and while our hearts are still reeling WHO caught up with business owner and gorgeous brunette Lisa to get her side of the story.
WHO: What was the truth behind you and Luke leaving the paradise? Did something else trigger your exit?
No, not at all. I think it doesn’t seem like a long time but for three weeks all day with a similar routine (I don’t want to sound like I didn’t want to be on holiday, but it was kind of where I Was at. Luke and I were in a really really good position and I wanted to get out into the real world. I knew that Luke lived in Sydney so obviously everything’s going to be great while you’re on a holiday in paradise but I wanted to come back and get back into work and seeing if what we had in paradise was real.
WHO: Did he meet your family?
He did. Yeah, and I met his mum and she’s really lovely. I really really liked his mum!
WHO: Talk us through it, you leave The Paradise and are hoping for the best. What happened after you left the show?
We kind of spent nearly every day together when we first came out – we were in a little bit of a love bubble. We were really happy and we were doing a lot of different things together but you know it’s kind of out of my control… It’s hard. You know we did date for a couple of months and then we broke up for certain reasons. Yeah, I’m kind of in a position where I’m happy and moving on.
WHO: In hindsight, do you think “I should have given someone else a chance?”
No, I don’t think like that at all. I think Luke was definitely the one person I really wanted to get to know. I think people just make mistakes and that’s what’s happened in this case – obviously, there are rumours out there and I won’t go into too much detail – I think people know where they make mistakes and they, unfortunately, in this case, it didn’t work out in my favour.
WHO: How are you doing after the break-up?
I’m alright, I’m a very happy person. I keep myself busy with my job.
WHO: We spoke to Michael earlier and he mentioned he does still speak to you pretty regularly. He mentioned you’re a friend, but would you ever consider turning that friendship into something more?
We’re good friends. He’s very likeable so it’s hard not to like Michael. But I think with everything going on he is being a really good friend through it all.
WHO: Would you try dating apps?
I think I want to go back to dating the old-fashioned way. And see if I can meet someone not through a dating show, just genuinely maybe whilst I’m running. [Laughs] Doing the Bondi to Bronte? Send the nice ones my way!
WHO: Do you still speak to Luke or did it end on a bad note?
Well look we had to have discussions because we’re doing this through the public eye so you know I’m respectful of that. And he’s being very respectful of my decisions and I think that’s kind of made it a little bit easier for me and not going into detail. We’ve come to talking grounds and I know that he’s taking responsibility for his actions.
Look it happened a while back, I have really good family and friends. You know watching the show back it brings back some good memories so it has been fun to watch it and kind of reminisce with everyone on what’s going on. And I’m really happy for the couples that come out of it and I feel that there are some really genuine couples.
WHO: Tara and Sam, are they engaged?
No, I can’t confirm or deny that.
WHO: Is Keira still with Jarrod?
What do you think? Honestly…
WHO: Are you dating anyone at the moment?
No its not my style I’ve never done the dating apps, I think I just want to meet someone the old fashioned way which is kind go hard these days because life is busy and it makes things easier to be on an app, but I just don’t think I’m going to find the right person that way. I know that he’s out there I’ve just got to just do what I’m doing and the universe will connect me with him.
WHO: Have your been manifesting like Laurina?
YES!
