“My feelings for Mel are growing really strong,” John tells WHO of his 53-year-old partner.

“I know it’s boring television, but we’re quite happy to keep to ourselves and we’re not concerned with all the other people and their goings-on. I mean, we were shocked and we have opinions but both Mel and I came to find love so that was my main priority. Everything else was peripheral,” he said.

“There are definitely times when I feel like John is someone I could fall in love with,” she says.

He’s also on the way: “I haven’t dropped the L word yet because I don’t want to get too ahead of myself,” he says. “But I’m feeling very fondly towards Mel.”

The middle-aged couple have crossed off a huge ilestone off their list as they’ve both met each other’s children— John has two daughters, Jessica, 24, and Emma,

22; Melissa is mum to David, 34, Chloe, 26, and Ellie, 15, and grandmother to Ava, 3, and Summer, 3 months. The smitten do say blending their families together isn’t daunting. “My girls are all for Mel and off-camera they get on really well,” says John.

“We haven’t really discussed integrating families,” adds his bride. “The only discussion we’ve had around it was how amazing it is that our children are all very similar. It

almost goes without saying that if we are properly together for the rest of our

lives, it wouldn’t be an issue.”
