Hundreds of fans headed to the area to see the royal couple – cheering when they stepped out holding hands.

Harry – who is the Commonwealth youth ambassador – and his wife spent half an hour discussing the mental health projects operating in the country and the impressive work they’ve done with the young people of New Zealand.

Meghan sipped on peppermint tea and enjoyed the locally made cakes, before requesting the leftovers be given to the waiting kids, outside.

School students then treated the parent-to-be with a Maori song.
