It was one of the most-talked amount moments from the Golden Globes:
The incredibly awkward few seconds on stage where Nicole Kidman appeared to blank award-winner Rami Malek.
While onstage, Malek attempted to get Kidman’s attention not once, but twice, and got brushed off both times by the star.
Reflecting on THAT moment, Kidman admits she had no idea he was trying to speak to her.
“We’re really good friends! I just did not feel his hand on my back,” the actress told Entertainment Tonight, adding that she was “mortified” about the whole thing.
“I love that man. He’s so gentle and softly spoken. He’s a darling,” she continued.
“He sent me an email [about the incident]. I sent him an email … we were laughing, actually.”
Malek also spoke out about the incident and defended Kidman.
“I got up there, and I was in such a daze I don’t even know how I put together a collection of words that sounded coherent. So the fact that I knew Nicole [was there], I was like, ‘Oh, here’s a bit of safety.’ And then she just didn’t see me. It was as simple as that,” he explained.
