Olympia Valance is celebrating a major relationship milestone today, marking one year since her partner, Thomas Bellchambers, popped the question.
But she’s a whole 877 kilometres – give or take a few, geography is a guessing game – from her fiancé.

The actress is set to appear in the new season of Dancing With The Stars, which requires her to live in Sydney during filming. Though this means she can’t be with her Melbourne-based fiancé on their special day, Olympia didn’t let it stop her from sharing the love.
“One year ago today this handsome man asked me to be his wifey. Not really sure how I got so lucky,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Thank you for making me so happy, so supported, believed in, cared for and deeply loved. Thank you for always pushing me to achieve the things I’m not always brave enough to do on my own.”
The Playing For Keeps star continued her post, saying she couldn’t wait to return home once DWTS wraps up.
“I adore you more and more everyday. Can’t wait to kick off these dancing shoes to come home and give you a big long pash,” she wrote.
“I miss being wrapped up in those big arms 😏😘❤️😍 LOVE YOU BABY. Home soon I promise.”
The couple became engaged one year ago today, with Thomas popping the big question over a low-key picnic on Orpheus Island, where they were enjoying a holiday after spending months together in Melbourne’s lockdown.
Sharing photos from the big day, Olympia wrote: “Today is a special day. The man of my dreams proposed to me. I get to marry my best friend.”
While Thomas added on his own post: “Couldn’t be happier… stuck with me now.”
Their engagement came more than a year after the AFL player and actress met on celebrity dating app, RAYA. The couple were instantly taken with one another, moving in just a few months into their romance.
“He has come to me at a good time in my life,” Olympia told WHO at the time. “We live together; we haven’t spent a night apart since. I’m absolutely happy.”
The pair later purchased a “country weekender” in the picturesque town of Daylesford outside of Melbourne, where they spent much of their year in lockdown in 2020.
“It’s an exciting next step for us. We are both super happy and couldn’t be going better,” Thomas had said of the purchase.
With an engagement following on shortly after, and a string of romantic moments shared in the year since, it’s clear this couple are more loved-up than ever.
