Samuel Johnson

The actor, 43, stole our hearts as womanising writer Evan Wylde and the show was canned soon after his 2004 departure.

Though he enjoyed parts in several Aussie productions, including Underbelly, Paper Giants and the lead role in 2016’s Molly and is set to star as Ezra Katz in Stan series Eden, Johnson’s top priority has been philanthropy work.

He founded the Love Your Sister charity in 2012 with his sister Connie, who tragically passed away from cancer in 2017.

Joel Edgerton

Starring as Will McGill, the actor left the show in the midst of its heyday, but his career certainly didn’t suffer!

Appearing in several Hollywood blockbusters, including Zero Dark Thirty, The Great Gatsby, Boy Erased and The Gift, Edgerton is still going strong in his career, with this year’s The Underground Railroad miniseries opening to critical acclaim. And he’s showing no signs of slowing down, with a slew of projects on the horizon.

But Edgerton’s newest – and perhaps greatest – role is his recent journey into fatherhood, with the 46-year-old and his stylist partner Christine Centenera welcoming their first child together on May 21, 2021.

Claudia Karvan

“There was rawness, honesty and warmth– a permission not to be perfect,” Claudia Karvan recently told The Daily Telegraph of what set Secret Life apart from other shows of its time.

Karvan played Dr Alex Christensen in the hit show – and she hasn’t been short on roles since! After leaving Secret Life in 2003, the actress landed a role in another landmark Aussie show, Love My Way, and has had starring parts in local productions, including Puberty Blues and Halifax: Retribution.

Now 49, the mum-of-two (to daughter Audrey, 19, and son Albee, 14) isn’t slowing down, with her moving new series, Bump, currently showing on Stan.

Deborah Mailman

We loved her as Kelly Lewis but Mailman has done so much since her Secret Life days with a raft of movies under her belt, from Rabbit-Proof Fence to Bran Nue Dae, The Sapphires, Paper Planes and, most recently, 2067.

Mailman, 48, also put in a solid seven years with the hit Aussie drama Offspring before turning her talents to the lead role in 2019’s Total Control, for which she won an AACTA Award for Best Lead Actress in a TV Drama.

Vince Colosimo

The actor is a staple on the Aussie small screen and since his turn as Dr Anthony “Rex” Mariani on Secret Life, the roles have flooded in.

The star, 54, has also sadly courted his share of controversy over the years, including driving with a suspended licence in 2014, carrying methamphetamine in 2016, and driving under the influence of the same drug a year later. He most recently appeared in Occupation: Rainfall.

Abi Tucker

With a musical background, it’s perhaps no surprise to learn that Tucker went on to release two albums after her Secret Life days.

In fact, two of the singer/songwriter’s own tracks appeared on the series’ soundtrack, along with a third she co-wrote and performed.

Tucker, 48, also performed several songs during her turn as Grace McLeod on 2007’s McLeod’s Daughters, and released a new single, Friends for Life from her album Who Do You Really Know? just last year.
