Ana de Armas, who plays Marilyn Monroe in the upcoming film Blonde, has already predicted that her nude scenes will go viral the second they hit the internet.

Speaking in a recent interview with Variety, the 34-year-old Cuban-Spanish actress shared her thoughts on the virality of the scenes, explaining that the thought of her nude scenes circulating the internet out of context is upsetting.

“I know what’s going to go viral,” she explained.  “And it’s disgusting. It’s upsetting just to think about it.”

The actress continued: “I can’t control it; you can’t really control what they do and how they take things out of context.

“I don’t think it gave me second thoughts. It just gave me a bad taste to think about the future of those clips.”

The Netflix blockbuster, which will be available to stream on September 28, has already been at the centre of controversy thanks to its NC-17 rating for sexual content in the US.

However, Ana disagrees with the rating, telling L’Officiel she “didn’t understand why that happened.”.

“To tell this story, it is important to show all these moments in Marilyn’s life that made her end up the way that she did. It needed to be explained,” she shared.

Ana’s discomfort at how her nude scenes will be received echoes similar sentiments shared by UK actress Florence Pugh earlier this month.

The star of Don’t Worry Darling expressed her discomfort with how sex scenes from the film were being used as a marketing ploy in a recent interview with Harpers Bazaar

“When it’s reduced to your sex scenes, or to watch the most famous man in the world go down on someone, it’s not why we do it. It’s not why I’m in this industry,” Florence told the magazine.

Florence, whose onscreen husband in the film is ex-One Direction member Harry Styles, continued: “Obviously, the nature of hiring the most famous pop star in the world, you’re going to have conversations like that.

“That’s just not what I’m going to be discussing because [this movie is] bigger and better than that. And the people who made it are bigger and better than that.”
