Ariel Winter, 19, has given a candid interview to the Hollywood Reporter revealing not speaking to her mother is ‘for the best.’
The Modern Family star told the publication she was thrown into the spotlight by her ‘controlling’ mother, Chrystal Workman.
Reports have been revealed of Winter accusing her mother of sexualising her as a child, dressing her up in “the smallest miniskirts, sailor suits, low-cut things, the shortest dresses you’ve ever seen.”
“People thought I was 24 when I was 12,” she told the publication.
“If there was ever going to be a nude scene when I was that age, my mother would have a thousand per cent said yes.”
The star also claims food was ‘very, very restricted’ and that she wasn’t allowed to have female friends as they were “competition.”
Winter became emancipated from her mother back in 2012, and has not spoken to her since.
Despite Winter’s separation from her mother, the star has been garnering a lot of negative media attention as of late due to her revealing outfits and older boyfriend.
