Friends, family, and fans flooded to the comment section, sending love, congratulations, and joking about how baby Jude’s “school lunch boxes are gonna be GOURMET,” as commented by Australian presenter Sarah Harris.

The MasterChef Australia judge and alumni spoke with WHO before Jude’s birth, discussing how the pregnancy went and the “learning” he’s excited to embark on once the little one arrives.

Andy is leaning into the ‘unpreparable’ aspects of fatherhood

Prior to the birth of his beautiful new baby boy, Andy Allen spoke to WHO about how he was preparing for parenthood.

While his wife would send him the occaisional Instagram how-to, Andy admitted that he’s a fan of “not over researching” and has taken the same approach to his fatherhood.

“I really love like, not over researching, and I might just sound like I’m being lazy,” Andy said to WHO. “But I don’t know, I feel like I get the best out of myself when I work through it in the moment.

“I really love like just figuring it out on the job.”

Coming from the place that unplanned problems will always arise and that sometimes learning on the job is the best solution, Andy said that he’s “maybe going to regret this, but [he’s] going to do the same thing when becoming a father.”

“I’ve heard that, you know, becoming a parent is like the most preparing you ever do for the unpreparable,” he said. “So I’m kind of taking that advice and running with it.”

Andy shouts endless praise for his wife Alex

When it comes to the type of partner you want by your side during a pregnancy, it sounds like Andy ticked all the boxes.

Singing praises to WHO about how resilient his wife Alex was during her pregnancy, as well as how much amazement he has for women’s strength during the process, it sounds like Andy was right by Alex’ side through all the ups and downs.

“My wife has been an absolute legend in the pregnancy. It just looks so hard,” he said. “I’m amazed at what the female body can do, and what being pregnant actually does. But yeah, it’s been a beautiful, beautiful journey so far.”
