Every year on MAFS we see a bridesmaid or groomsman who is the Vegemite of reality TV: you either love them or you hate them.

2026 is no different after Gia and Scott’s wedding when one of Gia’s best friends William stole the show with his outgoing personality.

From the moment he and fellow bridesmaid Brooke rocked up to Gia’s home (with a few drinks in them), to having a full-on argument with bride Gia, he’s one to watch.

So much so that viewers want more.

Could William be a future MAFS groom?

After his cameo, MAFS fans were calling for him to be involved in next year’s season.

“Can they bring Gia’s man of honour into next year’s cast?” one viewer said online.

However, not everyone was taken with William and his loud antics.

“Oh no thanks….he was a pain,” one replied. “Totally agree, no way,” another said.

“No way! His fake put on voice is the most irritating and grating voice I’ve heard,” a third qupped.

Ouch!

A long friendship with Gia

William, who referred to himself and Brooke as “the ultimate hype girls”, revealed on MAFS that he and Gia have been friends for 10 years.

Gia even went so far as to call him the “love of my life” on an Instagram post to which he replied, “Forever and always”.

Like a true best friend, William wasn’t afraid to tell it like it is when Gia reprimanded him and Brooke as she was getting ready.

“Does she think this is my first rodeo? Does she think this is the first bridezilla I’ve had to deal with?” he said before adding, “Chill out diva, you’re not Mariah Carey.”
