Brides Gia and Bec already clashed during the Hens episode of Married At First Sight but you’d better strap in because, apparently, the pair are each others’ “arch nemesis” throughout the series – with Gia having to dodge “bullying” questions about the dynamic already.
Gia Fleur married Scott McCristal in one of the first weddings of the series and the pair hit it off, with the sexual chemistry apparent from the get-go.

However, it’s Gia’s relationship with Bec Zacharia that is stealing the spotlight, with Gia throwing shade ahead of Bec’s wedding tonight.
“Me and a few of the girls, we don’t like some of them and you’ll see that play out throughout the show,” Gia said in her first radio interview with The Fox’s Fifi, Fev & Nick.
“Bec and I have a rivalry the entire season so you guys are going to see, no punch-ons, but a lot of words,” she said.
MAFS bride Gia admits ‘bread rolls’ will be thrown
Despite being coy regarding who she throws them at, Gia confirmed she does throw “bread rolls, no wine” during a dinner party this year.
When Gia revealed that “fiery” tension is prominent amongst her and the other women in the show this MAFS season, she was questioned by the radio hosts whether the viewers should prepare themselves for bullying.
“Not even bullying, it’s just like, you know, we keep it real. People can label us as mean girls but we make great TV,” she said. “I am at the centre of every dinner party.”

When asked whether Bec tries to steal Scott from Gia during the series, Gia simply replies, “She couldn’t, let’s be honest”.
Unsurprisingly, Gia believes she’ll be labelled as the ‘villain’ of the season – and will accept the unfavourable “crown” – but confessed she’s already had a wobble this week thanks to fan backlash.
Fans slam predictable ‘mean girl’ trope playing out in MAFS
The show is definitely no stranger to tension and arguments between its brides, but some fans pushed back against the trope, saying “cat fights” have no place in 2026.
“Gia is a mean girl,” one person on Reddit slammed, while another said “Gia is going to fire up this season with her entitled, opinionated nature”.
However, others simply said the drama is what keeps them coming back for more.
