It’s official.
Mikey and Natasha‘s 10 seconds of, err, fame is over.
Their Married At First Sight experience is over – and it came to an end just like the consummation of their marriage, suddenly.
MUST WATCH: MAFS’ Natasha and Mikey choose to leave ‘as friends’
Skipping the show’s most recent dinner party gave them time to decide where their relationship would take them, without the haze of toothbrush-gate.
‘I am so thankful we didn’t go to that dinner party. I think it was the best thing for Mikey and I, we decided to focus on ourselves, focus on our relationship and we just started to fix things,’ Natasha told viewers, obviously optimistic, yet clueless about the real state of their union.
‘We’ve gotten to see positives about each other for the first time and there’s stuff that we actually genuinely like about each other. What we’ve found now is a great friendship and a good energy.
‘For the first time it’s not two people trying to be the alpha in a relationship, it’s two people that are supporting each other and we’ve formed a great friendship on the basis of that.’

Over to Mikey, and he’s equally positive, but there is something in his voice that tells us he’s still got a chip on his shoulder about that night that lasted ’10 seconds.’
‘Look I’m really happy at where we’re at. We’re probably the closest we’ve been in terms of seeing eye-to-eye, getting on and being amicable and friendly.’
He added, ‘I feel I really only got to know Natasha the last week or so. She broke down her walls and showed me a side of herself that was really nice. That Natasha is definitely someone I could fall in love with.’
But the business manager admitted, ‘Mine and Natasha’s relationship at the moment is kind of like a two edge sword.’
At the commitment ceremony, Natasha and Mikey said they were in the best place they’ve been in the experiment – over.

Sugar-coating their divorce, Mikey said, ‘What we have is a question, is it more than a friendship, is it an actual relationship?
‘I think we’re in a position where we’re actually good. Do I want to risk that by going back to a place where we’ve already been and tried and it was hard? Or do we be adults about it and not waste each other’s time?
‘If we’re getting on the best as friends, why would you change that dynamic?’
After Mikey declared he would ‘leave’ the experiment, Natasha told the group she was on the same page.
‘When I got a 28-year-old North Shore boy I thought “oh god I’ll have to baby sit for the experiment,” but you have taught me so much about myself, which was such a pleasant surprise. Mikey is what I needed to get this point in the experiment.’

‘Just quickly,’ Mikey chimned in, ‘I just want to say honestly, I wish you nothing but the best.
‘I really hope you find that person that’s going to be there and I’m sure you will. You deserve the world and you will get it.’
Natasha smiled, ‘Mikey said some really beautiful things and it reinforced that I’m leaving with a great friend. Mikey’s a great person and I’m very fortunate to have had him.’
Bon voyage!
