When it comes to a press tour, Zendaya is famed for going full method. From her incredible theme dressing (orchestrated by the one-and-only Law Roach) to crashing weddings, Zendaya knows how to sell a film… and she’s only just begun her 2026 run.
Her upcoming film The Drama, directed by Kristoffer Borgli, is the first of many Zendaya projects to consume this year.
With five major releases (The Drama, The Odyssey, Spider Man: Brand New Day, Dune: Part Three, and Euphoria Season 3) set for 2026, Zendaya has joked about hoping people “don’t get sick of [her]” and that she’s “going into hiding” afterward.
While we could simply never tire of the icon that is Z, the thought of her schedule this year makes us want to lie down (but, then again, so does the pay check).
It’s only fitting that the film starting her year of chaos is one where chaos is implied in the moniker.
And from what we’ve seen and heard, the plot twist in this film is one that is impossible to predict.
What is The Drama about?
The Drama follows the story of engaged couple Charlie (Pattinson) and Emma (Zendaya) who are putting the final touches to their wedding.
From taking dance lessons and writing their speeches, they’re excitedly anticipating the new life that awaits them as husband and wife.
But when Emma makes an unexpected revelation during a dinner party game with friends on the eve of their nuptials, their relationship changes irrevocably.
While we won’t spoil the pin drop moment, all we can say is whatever wrong you think you’ve done… there’s always someone who’s done worse.
At least in Emma’s case.

The Drama is premiering in Australia on Thursday, April 2, 2026, exclusively in cinemas.
What are some of Zendaya’s best PR moments for The Drama?
When it comes to Zendaya’s masterclass in press touring this year, the moment that launched the star back into the spotlight was Law Roach’s cheeky comment at the 2026 Actor Awards red carpet where, when asked about Tom Holland and Zendaya’s wedding (and what dress she would wear), the stylist simply replied: “The wedding’s already happened, you missed it.”
It’s safe to say the internet rightfully imploded.
Since then, it’s been iconic style moment after iconic style moment, from bridal white ensembles and wedding band rumours to a nostalgic play on the “something old, something new” pre-nuptial wives tale.
Simply put, Zendaya’s looks have been nothing short of perfection.
However, she – of course – hasn’t just focused on the look, she’s walked the talk too, going on side quests we didn’t even know were possible.
From witnessing a wedding in Las Vegas to attending a random bride’s wedding dress fitting, Zendaya proved yet again that she really is the peoples princess, and that this film is truly for everyone.

The other lesson Zendaya has graciously taught us through this press tour is that co-stars really can be professional and don’t need to play into an off-screen romance for people to talk about the film.
Unlike the “Wuthering Heights” press tour from our Aussie stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi, that certainly raised eyebrows about their relationship, Zendaya and Pattinson have been completely respectful of each other and their partners (Tom Holland and Suki Waterhouse, respectively).
No red carpet flirtations or insinuating hand placements, just a good old fashion working relationship that, well, works!
While fans love a good co-star romance, it’s actually not always what people crave, and while this pair play love interests in the film, people often prefer fidelity to existing partners over a quick PR craze.
That being said, we can’t WAIT to see Zendaya and Tom Holland interviewing together again as Spiderman: Brand New Day is released in July 2026.
However, that is of course different for the actual happy couple, who we very much hope will showcase their romance.
